The simplest of moments can make a lifetime of cherished memories — memories that bring smiles to our faces and joy into our lives, even at the darkest of times. Remembering these moments not only preserves our past and enriches our present with happiness, but also inspires hope for our future. Since 1983, Make-A-Wish® Canada has been granting wishes to children ages 3 through 17 with life-threatening illnesses. Each wish granted allows children and their families time for togetherness, time to dream, and time to realize that miracles can and do happen. Our goal through partnering with Make-A-Wish® in Canada is to help children with life-threatening illnesses remember the past, cherish the present, and be inspired with hope for the future. What began as the strong desire of a handful of individuals to fulfill the wish of one young girl in British Columbia in 1983, has grown into an organization that has granted over three thousand wishes to children across Canada. “I watched my daughter play and laugh… just like a normal little girl. She forgot all about the hospitals, shots and pain. We were together, the whole family, having such a wonderful time. With so much joy, we had a minute to remember how much we have to live for. Since that trip, our little girl has passed away. Our family cannot thank Make-A-Wish enough for all the lasting memories they have given us.” - Garry and Elizabeth Flodell To see a promotional ad for Make-A-Wish, click here. |
